Leave your laptop behind with iPhone Web apps
I no longer carry Laptop or paperback or magazine with me, wherever i go, i know my iPhone is with me and it can solve lot many purposes.
I can take quick notes with iPhone, i can browse web on iPhone, i can check my emails anytime, i can send instant messages etc.. etc..
The iPhone, of course, can not be a perfect replacement for a laptop but it is good enough that I feel comfortable leaving home with just the iPhone.
Here's what I'm doing on my iPhone during the day:
- Facebook: Facebook has a new interface for iPhone, which makes it very easy to read news feeds, change my status line, and generally see what's going on out there.
- Instant Messaging: Though Apple do not have instant message client on the iPhone but there are some workarounds which, I expect, will improve over time like Meebo, BeeJive, and mundu IM.
- RSS Feeds: Mobile RSS feeds are simply great. There are many RSS readers for the iPhone, but here are some great ones: Google Reader and Bloglines.
- Lists: Though iPhone is missing features like to do or list application, but there are plenty of Web app lists to choose from: One Trip, Listingly, iPhoneditin, Remember the Milk, and Ta Da are a few.
- Office Applications: When I need to create basic text or word documents or spreadsheet, i use iZoho or gOffice.
